MOV blocks are designed to take excess energy to ground to protect critical equipment in the distribution and station power system, MOV is composed of many small semiconductor switches, MOV can instantly change its resistance to the voltage from high resistance to low resistance if a lightning strike threatens. The high-performance MOV can survive lightning strikes over and over so that it protects power grid equipment for effective long-term operation.
