Polyphenylene ether for gears, bearings
Polyphenylene ether can be used to manufacture high-precision gears, bearings and other transmission components. In gear applications, polyphenylene ether's low coefficient of friction and good abrasion resistance can reduce energy loss and noise generation, improve transmission efficiency, and its share of application in industrial gear materials is about 8 per cent. Pump impellers, blower impeller blades, etc. are also used because of the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of polyphenylene ether, which can extend the service life of the equipment and reduce maintenance costs.
