Ope wax for leather processing
Oxidized polyethylene wax serves as a key component in finishing agents, performing the following functions:
Providing excellent gloss
Mechanism: During leather smoothing or embossing, wax particles within the wax emulsion melt under heat, forming an extremely thin, continuous transparent wax film on the leather surface. This film reflects light like a mirror, producing gloss effects ranging from natural to high sheen (depending on dosage and process).
Effect: Enhances the leather's appearance, imparting a brighter, more luxurious look.
Improves Handfeel
Mechanism: The wax film inherently possesses smooth and moisturising properties. It reduces the friction coefficient on the leather surface, resulting in a smoother, finer, and silkier tactile sensation.
Effect: Significantly enhances the leather's sensory quality, making it a crucial adjuvant in producing premium leather goods such as automotive upholstery, high-end furniture leather, and apparel leather.
