The RPP radiation protection performance tester is used to measure the amount of time that the radiation heat source penetrates the protective composite fabric system to cause damage to the skin.
Principle:
The ThermDAC control system continues to record and show the average temperature rise in real time graphics. The curve represents the increasing temperature when the heat source penetrates the composite fabric to the sensor. When the test is complete, the test results are automatically compared to the Stoll curve that represents the bubbling onset of human skin under heat and time. The RHR/RPP rating of the composite fabric is provided at the intersection of the two curves.
Structures:
Device contains a 5 bulb type quartz infrared heat lamps and lanterns component, a pneumatic operated water-cooled shutter, two thermocouple input, an integrated induction cooling machine which is used to improve the efficiency of test throughput and a software security interface. PC portable computer system contains ThermDAC data collection and control system, additional burn prediction algorithm.

Conditions:
● The laboratory should be well ventilated with a hood, a dry compressed air source and a cooling water supply pipe.
