Closed Circuit Cooling Tower
Closed circuit cooling tower (also known as an evaporative air cooler or closed cooling tower) is the tubular heat exchanger placed in the tower, through the circulation of air, spray water and circulating water heat exchange to ensure the cooling effect.

Closed Circuit Cooler vs Cooling Tower
The cooling towers is a specialized heat exchanger where air and water are brought into direct contact with each other in order to reduce the water temperature. The closed circuit cooler is one type of cooling towers , which keeps the system clean and contaminant-free in a closed loop. During operation, heat is transferred from the warm fluid in the coil to the spray water, and then to the atmosphere as a portion of the water evaporates.
Closed Circuit Cooling Tower Design
The closed circuit cooling tower can keep the system clean and contaminant-free in a closed loop. This creates two separate fluid circuits. During operation, heat is transferred from the warm fluid in the coil to the spray water, and then to the atmosphere as a portion of the water evaporates. Besides chiller applications and industrial process cooling, closed circuit cooling towers are often used with heat pump systems.
Advantages of Closed Circuit Cooling Tower
a.The closed loop cooling tower is a counter flow and cross flow cooling tower based on the design idea of forced circulation. The closed counter flow cooling tower has a closed loop system and covers a small area, has a compact structure, and can be combined with many sets, so the cooling effect is better.
b. The closed circuit cross flow cooler belongs to mechanical refrigeration, which avoids a series of problems that the thermal cycle of the open cooling tower is directly connected with the atmosphere, and the circulating medium is easy to be polluted; the closed counter flow cooling tower uses cold water to cool the medium in the coil directly so that the cooling medium has no pollution, less damage, remarkable energy saving effect and good environmental protection effect.
c. The wind tube of oem closed circuit cross flow cooler adopts an aerodynamic design. This kind of curve structure greatly reduces the water drift rate of the closed loop evaporative cooler.
d. The industrial closed circuit counter flow cooler adopts coil type structure, and the copper tube or stainless steel tube has a more sufficient heating surface and higher heat exchange efficiency.
e. The closed counter flow cooling tower is divided into counter flow heat transfer and cross flow heat transfer. The counter flow heat transfer can control the temperature of the cooling medium below normal temperature.
f. With its superior structural design, the industrial closed loop cross flow cooler can completely operate under low pressure, and can directly cool high-temperature media such as hydraulic oil, alcohol and quenching liquid. The stainless steel or galvanized aluminum shell not only has a beautiful appearance but also has a longer service life.
Closed Circuit Cooling Tower vs Open Circuit Cooling Tower
There are two different types of industrial closed loop cross flow cooling tower designs: open circuit cooling towers and closed counter flow cooling towers. Both types of towers serve the same purpose, but they go about cooling the water in different ways. The difference between closed-circuit cooling towers and open circuit cooling towers is that the cooled water of closed counter flow cooling towers never makes direct contact with air. Closed-circuit cooling towers require much more energy to achieve the same cooling as open circuit cooling towers.
