Wire Rope Sling
Steel clamp wire slings are used in steel warehouses, metalworking shops, and construction sites where extreme lifting height is required. Structured with 6 strands of filler wire rope that has premium flexibility and fatigue properties, the wire rope slings can be made of either a hard eye with a thimble and ferrule or a soft eye that have a large lifting loop or endless loop. They can also be assembled with lifting hooks that can help for quick connection. When the lifting sling wire and rope wire sling are surface treated with electric galvanization, they can serve in some harsh environments such as the marine industry, oil and gas field, and chemical industry.

Scraps of the Wire Rope Sling
ln case any of the following circumstances, the wire rope slings shall be stopped from use and be repaired, replacedor scrapped.
Broken wires exceed 5% of the total number in a continue length of 6 times wire rope diameter.Visible Broken wire over 3 numbers.
Broken wires appear in the loop end or near to the press sleeves or splicing area.
Heavy wear wire rope, the measured diameter is less than 90% of the nominal diameter of the wire rope sling.Bad corrosion with rough surface and measured diameter is less than 93% of the nominal diameter.
Wire rope has distortion, crushing, core damage and wire rope flattening caused by knotting, twisting and extrusion exceed 20% of the original nominal diameter
Thermal damage of steel wire rope: due to the hot melting of steel wire rope and molten metal scalding due to the charged thermal arc, or due to its strength reduction due to long-term exposure to high temperature environment.The connector is severely squeezed, worn, the metal sleeve is damaged (such as crack, serious deformation,corrosion)or the diameter is reduced to 95% of the original nominal diameter.
The metal sleeve or plug-in part fixedly connected to the rope end slides out.
Temperature Affect On Wire Rope Slings
The maximum temperature that the wire rope sling can withstand is 100℃.Generally, when the temperature
exceeds 60℃, the loss of grease of the wire rope will be accelerated and the service life of the wire rope sling will be reduced. lf there is ambient temperature when use the wire rope sling, the operator will be in dangerous.
Storage Of The Wire Rope Sling
Wire rope slings should be stored in a clean, well-ventilated, dry, dust-free and sheltered place. lf it cannot be stored in doors, the wire rope slings should be covered with a waterproof material to prevent moisture from rusting.
The storage and handling methods and protective measures of the wire rope slings shall not cause any accidental damage to the steel wire rope during storage or when
moving in and out of the warehouse. Wire ropes lifting slingsare notallowed to be stored in places susceptible to chemical fumes, steam or other corrosive media.
