There are various elastomer formulations for stoppers. Natural rubber is a general-purpose elastomer, mainly used for water-based liquid filling products in the pH range of 4.0-7.5. Its resealability is an advantage in multi-dose applications. The formula uses dry natural rubber and no liquid latex. The post-treatment cycle (PEP 1) reduces the content of volatile extractables in the rubber component. The extractable formula of butyl stopper is very low and can be used with liquid, lyophilized or dry powder products that need to prevent oxygen or moisture penetration. The stopper coated with PTFE provides an inert barrier to minimize the interaction between the reagent and the container.
