Formic Acid
Formic Acid (also called methanoic acid) is the simplest carboxylic acid. Its chemical formula is HCOOH or HCO2H.
It is an important intermediate in chemical synthesis and occurs naturally, most notably in the venom of bee and ant stings.
Formic acid is one of the basic organic chemical raw materials, widely used in pesticides, leather, dyes, medicine and rubber industries. Formic acid can be directly used in fabric processing, tanning, textile printing and dyeing, and storage of green fodder. It can also be used as metal surface treatment agent, rubber auxiliaries and industrial solvents. Used to synthesize various formic esters, acridine dyes and pharmaceutical intermediates of formamide Series in organic synthesis
