Glyoxylic Acid Uses
Glyoxylic acid is used as a raw material for the production of methyl vanillin and ethyl vanillin in the perfume industry. In the pharmaceutical industry, oxoethanoic acid is normally used as an antihypertensive drug Atenolol, D-p-hydroxyphenylglycine (a nationally developed pharmaceutical intermediate), broad-spectrum antibiotic amoxicillin (oral), acetophenone, amino acids, and other compounds. Moreover, as a synthetic intermediate, acid glyoxylic is also an intermediate for varnish raw materials, dyes, plastics, and agricultural chemicals. It can also be used to produce allantoin, which is an intermediate of anti-ulcer drugs, pharmaceutical products, and daily chemicals.
