The process of producing MEKO involves the reaction of MEK with hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. The resulting product is then purified to obtain MEKO.

Methyl ethyl ketone oxime is composed of methyl ethyl ketone, hydroxylammonium phosphate, and other auxiliaries. Among them, MEK accounts for 72%, hydroxylammonium phosphate accounts for 24%, and auxiliaries account for 4%.

MEK is typically applied to MEKO in a manufacturing setting, where it may be used as a solvent or reactant in various industrial processes. MEKO is often used as an anti-skinning agent in paints and coatings, where it helps to prevent the formation of a film on the surface of the paint when it is exposed to air.
