Powder coating for pipeline anticorrosion
Introduction
The service life of the pipeline depends largely on the anti-corrosion method of the steel pipe. The use of good coating materials and coating methods can make the service life of the pipeline reach decades or longer. Before the 1950s, the materials used for anti-corrosion coatings were mainly coal tar enamels and other materials, which provided good protection for the pipeline. However, these materials also had many disadvantages and their application scope was limited to a certain extent. It was not until the late 1950s that the introduction of epoxy resin heavy anti-corrosion sintered powder coatings made a leap in pipeline protection technology. Experts have evaluated and compared several anti-corrosion materials based on decades of experience data. It can be seen that epoxy sintered powder coatings are incomparable to other materials from both technical and economic perspectives.
Standard pipeline powder coating melts a layer of 300-800 microns of thermosetting epoxy organic coating with good bonding ability on the inner wall of the steel pipe. It not only has the characteristics of high strength, easy connection and water impact resistance of steel pipes, but also overcomes the characteristics of easy corrosion, pollution, scaling and poor fire protection performance of steel pipes when encountering water.
Steel pipes can be directly used in drinking water projects, meet sanitary performance indicators, and have a service life of 30-50 years.
