The group was founded in May 2000, formerly known as Zhejiang Donghaixiang Textile Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd. In November 2006, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce approved the change of name to Donghaixiang Group Co., Ltd.

Donghaixiang Group Co., Ltd. controls 9 subsidiaries, covering an area of 620 acres. In 2010, Donghaixiang Group achieved a total industrial output value of 850 million yuan. In 2016, the output value reached 1.35 billion yuan and taxes and fees of more than 45 million yuan.
