A flange connection is a key method for connecting two pipes, fittings, or equipment. Each is fitted with a flange, and a gasket is placed between flanges, which are then securely fastened using bolts. The Fig.329 stub end flange is made of cast iron and includes bolt holes for reliable and stable installation.
Cast iron flanged fittings like Fig.329 are widely used in industrial and construction applications—especially in high-pressure or high-temperature pipelines. They offer excellent structural integrity, and the threaded or flanged ends provide flexibility in connection.
The manufacturing of cast iron pipe fittings is an intensive process, involving the creation of individual sand-clay-coal molds. Although brass and bronze are not stamped, cast iron remains a cost-effective solution. In fact, black cast iron fittings are generally more economical than brass due to raw material cost.
