Is PU leather eco friendly?
Sustainability wise PU synthetic leatheris actually way better than animal leather. The production takes up way less ressources and therefore more eco friendly. Although it is not as sustainable as plant based leather alternatives it is still more sustainable than conventional leather.
Is PU leather strong?
Since polyurethane has been used as a special coating for heavy duty and industrial purposes it is very durable. It lasts a very long time and usually does not crack or wear down easily. The overall durability and quality is quite good and actually way better compared to most faux leather alternatives.
Is PU synthetic leatherwaterproof?
As a material, this synthetic version of the real thing offers numerous advantages. In terms of performance, polyurethane leather is waterproof, can be dry-cleaned, is soft and supple and much lighter than real leather.
What is PU leather made of?
PU is made by coating a backing fabric such as polyester or shredded leather with a flexible polymer and then treating it to look more like animal hide. Polyurethane upholstery is the most realistic imitation of genuine leather, with respect to hand, surface feel, and overall appearance.
