DL-Methionine Price

Hygroscopicity and Bulk Properties of DL-Methionine
Hygroscopicity: DL-methionine has weak hygroscopicity. Under ambient conditions (25 °C, relative humidity 60%), its moisture absorption rate within 24 hours is less than 1%. When the relative humidity exceeds 80%, the moisture absorption rate increases to 2–3%, but it will not undergo deliquescence (dissolution due to moisture absorption). The weak hygroscopicity makes DL-methionine suitable for the preparation of solid formulations such as feed additives and pharmaceutical tablets.
Bulk density: The bulk density of DL-methionine crystalline powder is 0.55–0.70 g/cm³, and the tap density is 0.75–0.90 g/cm³. The bulk density is related to the particle size—granular products processed by granulation have higher bulk density, which is conducive to reducing packaging volume and improving production efficiency in industrial applications.
Flowability: The angle of repose of DL-methionine powder is 32°–38°, indicating good flowability. It is not prone to sticking during the tableting or filling process, which meets the requirements of large-scale industrial production.
