ICI Mace Snag Tester - Test Equipment
The nail hammer snag tester is mainly used to evaluate the ability of fabrics to resist snag.
Structure and principle
Structure:
It is generally composed of multiple rotating rollers, nail hammer devices and control panels. The surface of the roller has a certain texture or coating material, and the nail hammer has sharp parts.
Principle:
The fabric sample is put on the roller. After turning on the instrument, the roller rotates, and the nail hammer continuously contacts and collides with the fabric on a specific trajectory. The sharp part of the nail hammer simulates the hooking and pulling of sharp objects on the fabric in reality. After a certain period of testing, the surface of the fabric is observed to observe the snag situation, so as to evaluate the anti-snagging performance of the fabric.
Application field
Textile and clothing industry:
It is widely used in the production of fabrics and ready-made clothes to help companies detect whether the fabric is easy to snag, so as to ensure product quality and consumer wearing experience. For example, wool sweaters, stockings and other products that are easy to snag need to be tested with this instrument during the production process.
Research field:
Researchers use it to study the influence of factors such as different fiber materials and fabric structure on the anti-snagging performance of fabrics, so as to develop better anti-snagging fabrics.
