The GB/T 17650 Halogen Acid Gas Release Test Apparatus for Electric Cables is designed to determine the amount of halogen acid gases released from electric cables when exposed to high-temperature thermal radiation. By heating cable specimens in a tube furnace under controlled conditions, the apparatus measures total halogen acid gas volume, pH value, and electrical conductivity of combustion gases. The system supports testing requirements defined in GB/T 17650 and IEC 60754 series standards, ensuring reliable evaluation of cable materials with respect to halogen acid gas emission performance under fire conditions.

Dual filter columns filled with activated carbon and color-changing silica gel are used to purify and dry the carrier gas.
