These standards specify the test methods and performance requirements for fatigue testing of stemmed femoral components in partial and total hip replacements under defined conditions. Fatigue tests are conducted at a frequency of 1–30 Hz, load ratio R = 0.1. maximum load 2300 N, for 5 million cycles or until specimen failure.
