杜瓦瓶，利用真空层良好的保温性能来保持物体内层的温度。杜瓦瓶是双层结构，与温水瓶寿命的不同之处在于它比较精致，双层航空铝胆之间的真空度等方面要求更高。
液氮杜瓦瓶通常用于将液氮保存较长时间，利用液氮的低温来保持瓶内的样品活跃。因为液氮在-196°C时会蒸发，即使在杜瓦瓶中也会不断变成氮气，所以一个好的杜瓦瓶可以让液氮汽化得更慢，保持更长时间。每个杜瓦瓶都是在工厂通过一道工序精心制造的，每个杜瓦瓶都经过液氮挥发性测试，优于国家标准规定的挥发量。
