6206-2Z/VA228 Lubrication
Bearings with shields or seals at both sides are supplied as standard filled with a
grease which has good rust inhibiting properties and which is suitable for operating
temperatures between -22 and +230°F (-30 to +110°C). The bearings are lubricated for
life and are maintenance free. They should on no account be heated to temperatures above 250°F (120°C), nor should they be washed. By special order bearings with shields or seals can be supplied with other greases, e.g. for a temperature range of -40 to +300°F (-40 to +150°C).
The quantity of grease supplied is appropriate to the size of the bearing and normally fills between 25 and 35% of the free space in the bearing. Open bearings are supplied with a rust preservative that is compatible with most standard greases and should not be removed prior to mounting or lubricating
