Graphite electrodes
Graphite electrodes are mainly made of petroleum coke and needle coke as raw materials and coal tar pitch as binder. They are made by calcining, batching, kneading, pressing, roasting, graphitization and machining. They are released in the form of electric arcs in an electric arc furnace, then heating and melting the raw materials as electrode.GE can be classified into RP, HP and UHP according to different specificaiton. The products have the advantages of low resistivity, low ash content, uniform structure, good thermal vibration resistrance, high mechanical strength, low thermal expansion coefficient, precise fit of electrode and nipple, etc, which is an excellent materials for electric steelmaking and ore smelting.
