The sand abrasion tester is a specialized testing device used to evaluate the abrasion resistance of material surfaces. It simulates the impact and friction of sand particles on the material surface, realistically reproducing the wear process of materials in natural environments or industrial applications.

Application

It is mainly used to test the abrasion - resistance of the lenses of helmet goggles and evaluate their ability to resist particle - induced damage.

Test Procedures

1. according to the standard requirements for the preparation of test plates and placed in (23 +-2) degrees Celsius, relative humidity (50 +-5) degrees Celsius conditions for 24 hours.

2. Calibrate the apparatus:

Pour a certain amount of sand into the funnel, check the sand stream falling from the lower end of the conduit, and calibrate the device with the bottom adjusting screw until the inner part of the sand beam falls exactly on the center of the sand stream when viewed from two positions of 90 degrees Celsius each other. Use the high and low adjusting nut to adjust the distance from the tube tube to the painted surface according to the ASTM standard, when measured in the vertical direction, the near point of 1 inch (25mm), the user needs to be adjusted according to the thickness of their own samples, factory machine pre-adjustment of 25mm. to the pouring of a certain volume amount of sand (to 2000 +-10ml is appropriate), and measure the outflow time, the outflow rate should be 21S- 23.5S within 2L. This speed comes from the ASTM standard, and with the international standard sand for the test, we measured the speed of 1 minute 7L or more.
