Pharmacological Actions:
This is a sulfonamide drug. Sulfamonomethoxine sodium inhibits the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by competing with dihydrofolate reductase, ultimately preventing the growth and reproduction of bacteria. Methoxybenzene pyrimidine inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, preventing dihydrofolic acid from being reduced to tetrahydrofolic acid, thereby hindering bacterial nucleic acid synthesis. The combination of sulfamonomethoxine sodium and methoxybenzene pyrimidine can double-block the metabolism of folate, producing a synergistic antibacterial effect.
Indications and Usage:
This is a sulfonamide antibacterial drug. It is used to treat respiratory, digestive, and urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria in chickens. It can also be used to treat chicken coccidiosis and chicken leukocyte parasitic disease.
