Alginate Wound Dressing
Alginate wound dressingis an advanced moist wound dressing, composed of biodegradable, highly absorbent alginate fiber which is derived from seaweed, available in flat and rope patterns. On contact with exudate, these dressings form a moist gel through a process of ion exchange. Alginate for wounds are soft and conformable, easy to apply in cavity wounds or irregular-shaped wounds. Alginate bandagewith excellent absorption and good gel-forming effect. The alginate wound care dressing consisting of calcium alginate, provides superior absorption and is ideally designed for all moderate to heavily exuding both superficial and cavity wounds.
Application of types of alginate dressings
Algisite wound dressing manages moderate to severe exudate wounds, such as diabetic feet, pressure ulcers, leg venous and arterial ulcers, burns, postoperative wounds, and traumatic wounds. Also alginate ag dressing can be used for acute mild bleeding wounds.
Advantages of Alginate Wund Dressing
Alginate dressing is indicated for the moderate to heavily exuding chronic and acute wounds with minor bleeding, such as diabetic foot ulcer, pressure ulcer, leg venous and arterial ulcer, first and second-degree burns, post-operative wounds, and traumatic wounds absorb a large number of exudates, provides a moist environment for wound bed and facilitates the healing process.
The flat alginate bandage can be applied on shallow wounds.
How to Use Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing
Clean the wound with normal saline, gently dip the skin around the wound dry;
When alginate medical film is permeated by exudate, it needs to be replaced in time;
When granulation tissue began to form, the exudate decreased, and the number of medical film replacement decreased accordingly;
In the beginning, the medical film should be changed every day.
Each alginate medical film should not cover the wound for more than seven days.

Treatment of exudate and local hemostasis.
There are moderate to severe exudates and lacunae wounds, such as pressure ulcers, bedsore wounds.
Diabetic foot ulcer wounds, lower limb venous/arterial ulcer wounds.
Burn wounds and refractory burn wounds in burn donor area.
Anorectal fistula postoperative wound bleeding, exudation
