Titanium carbide round rods for micro cutting tools

The anti-adhesion performance of titanium carbide round rods fabricated from hard alloy is highly superior. When machining sticky materials such as aluminum alloys and copper alloys, the likelihood of "tool sticking" is significantly reduced, thereby ensuring a smooth and high-quality surface finish. The surface properties of these rods can be further enhanced through coating treatments, such as TiAlN coating, which improve wear resistance and oxidation resistance, extending tool life by more than 50%. In the medical device industry, titanium carbide round rods are commonly used in the fabrication of orthopedic surgical instruments, offering both excellent sharpness and the ability to withstand high-temperature sterilization without deformation. By adjusting the titanium carbide content (typically ranging from 70% to 90%) and the proportion of binder material, these rods can be customized to achieve specific performance characteristics. A higher titanium carbide content enhances wear resistance, making the material suitable for rough machining applications, whereas an increased binder proportion improves toughness, rendering it more appropriate for precision and fine machining tasks. With a density of only 6.5 g/cm³, titanium carbide round rods are approximately 20% lighter than tungsten carbide rods of the same dimensions, making them ideal for the production of lightweight tools. In the 3C electronics industry, they are widely employed in the machining of precision components such as mobile frames and laptop housings, ensuring scratch-free surfaces and minimal dimensional tolerances.
