Micronized wax for pigment
Micronized wax is primarily used to enhance coatings' scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, smooth hand feel, and anti-blocking properties, finding extensive application in solvent-based coatings, oil-based paints, and similar fields.
Core Functionality
Micronized wax reduces friction through its spherical particle structure, strengthening the coating surface's resistance to abrasion; its uniform particle size distribution enables effective dispersion within coating systems, improving the physical properties of the paint film.
Application Characteristics
Scratch Resistance & Wear Resistance: Polyethylene Micronized wax exhibits moderate hardness and a smooth surface, lowering the coefficient of friction to minimise scratch formation.
Anti-Caking & Smoothness: Micro-wax forms a lubricating layer within coatings, preventing caking while enhancing tactile properties (e.g., smooth or matte finishes).
Matting Effect: Certain formulations are suitable for thin-film coatings, simultaneously providing matting functionality.
