4-Fluorocinnamic Acid is used as a reagent in the synthesis of several organic compounds including enantiometrically pure halophenylalanines form acrylic acids. Also used in the synthesis of trichodermin derivatives which possess antifungal properties. 4-Fluorocinnamic Acid in particular is used as a synthetic building block in flavor and pharmaceutical industries.
