Panel stack wrapped
The panel stack wrapper wraps a stack of sandwich panels with a plastic film to protect the stack during transport. This wrapper wraps the film around the stack in a spiral motion but does not pack ends of panels (this is a manual operation). Film spool changing time is approximately at 30 seconds. This wrapper wraps the film around the stack in a spiral motion.
The leg insertion unit load EPS legs for transport under panel stacks by the operator. The leg position for each stack is preprogrammed by the machine operator and the machine automatically places a EPS leg under the stack as per the operator program. The leg is pushed from under the magazine onto the transfer conveyor. Through encoder positioning, the transfer conveyor drives the leg in unison with panel stack and wraps the leg in with the pack in the correct position.

The overlapping area of film wrapping is between 0-300mm(adjustable).
The pre stretching rate of film should be not less than 150%.

The wrapper consists of the following major items:
Rotating housing for application of film
Spool carriage
Automatic film clamping system
Automatic film cutting system
Control system for operation of system
Internal conveyor to allow pallets to be wrapped with the panels
EPS leg magazine storage and supply unit
Computer control system
A conveyor is position just prior to the wrapper to feed stacks into the wrapper. This conveyor will be a rubber roller type system. A slat type conveyor is also positioned after the wrapper to allow panel stack to be removed after wrapping.
Wrapper operation is as follow:
A stack of panels is presented to the input conveyor from the panel stacker noted above.
The input conveyor feeds the leading edge of the stack into the rotating housing
The wrapper ring automatically starts to allow the leading edge of the stack to be wrapped, wrapping it several times for strength
The input conveyor which feeds the stack through the wrapper. The stack is spirally wrapped at the preset feedrate.
The trailing edge of the panel reaches the end of the wrapping ring and the conveyor stop, allowing extra wraps at the end of the panels.
The automatic film cutting system cuts the film automatically and grips it, making it ready for the next cycle.
The panel stack is driven out to the exit and where it automatically stops and awaits removal by forklift truck by the operator
Leg insertion unit operation is as follows:
As the stack of panels is fed into the wrapper, an EPS leg is fed from the magazine onto a conveyor under the panel stack.
An encoder measures the stack position and the leg is automatically fed under the panel stack to a pre-programmed position under the stack.
The conveyor continues to drive the EPS leg at the same speed under the panel stack as it is wrapped into the pack by the wrapper.
As more legs are required, the system continues to feed EPS legs under the stack as required.
Panel wrapper exit conveyor
A 11m long slat type exit conveyor removers wrapped product from the wrapper and presents it to the operator for remove.
