Compression Tester G5 ,ISO 3386 compression strength tester for textile samples
The G5 Compression Tester is designed to simulate fingertip or other localized contact pressure on materials. It accurately measures compression hardness, compression work, and recovery properties, providing quantitative data for evaluating material tactile comfort and mechanical performance. It is suitable for testing compression characteristics of fibers, rubber, foam, footwear materials, mattresses, and soft materials used in consumer electronics.
Application
The G5 Compression Tester is suitable for:
Fibers and Textiles: Compression comfort testing of underwear, bedding, and apparel fabrics
Rubber and Foam Materials: Footwear soles, seat cushions, packaging materials
Bedding Products: Evaluation of compression and recovery of mattresses, pillows, and lumbar cushions
Consumer Electronics: Testing compression performance of touch buttons, soft housings, and cushioning pads
Medical Products: Assessment of compression characteristics of dressings, protective pads, and soft materials
Scientific Research: Studies on material compression mechanics, tactile comfort, and rebound performance
Standards
GB/T 6669-2011 — Test methods for compression properties of rubber, foam, and soft materials
ISO 3386-1/2 — Determination of compression properties of foam
ASTM D3574 — Standard test methods for flexible polyurethane foam

Features
High-Sensitivity Measurement: Capable of detecting extremely small downward forces, suitable for fine materials.
Compression Recovery Testing: Accurately measures subtle recovery forces, assessing material elasticity and tactile comfort.
Multiple Load Settings: Switchable range from 100 gf to 1000 gf to accommodate different material requirements.
Adjustable Deformation Speed: Standard and high-sensitivity testing modes for flexible testing conditions.
Compact and Easy to Operate: Compact design ideal for laboratory and R&D use, providing stable and reliable data.
Test Principle
The G5 Compression Tester measures the material response under localized pressure. A standard circular platen applies controlled compression to the sample. Load cells (differential transformers) measure applied force, while potentiometers record deformation. The device can calculate compression hardness, compression work, and recovery properties, providing quantitative analysis of tactile performance and material elasticity.
Operation Instructions
Prepare a sample (2–10 cm square, thickness as required).
Place the sample under the circular compression platen.
Select the desired load (100 gf–1000 gf) and compression speed (standard or high sensitivity).
Start the test; the instrument measures compression force, deformation, and recovery.
Record and analyze data to evaluate material compression performance.
Maintenance Information
Clean the compression platen before and after each test.
Inspect load cells and potentiometers for calibration and wear.
Avoid exposure to moisture or corrosive materials.
Store in a stable environment, avoiding vibration and direct sunlight.
