BS 4504 Stainless Steel Socket Welding Flange

Stainless steel socket welding flanges are a popular choice for small-diameter pipes under high pressure. Their function is similar to that of slip-on flanges, as both types are used to connect two pipes. However, the smooth bore of socket welding flanges provides improved fluid flow. When internally welded, the static strength of a socket welding flange matches that of a slip-on flange, while its fatigue strength is 50% higher than that of double-welded slip-on flanges. In some cases, socket welding flanges can be used as a substitute for slip-on flanges in piping applications.
