Duplex stainless steel has the advantages of both ferritic stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel: austenitic stainless steel reduces the brittleness, maintains excellent toughness and weldability; ferritic stainless steel improves the yield strength, intergranular corrosion resistance and chloride stress corrosion resistance.
