FFP2 respirator offers a moderate level of protection against harmful water, particulates and fumes. FFP2 respirator of JQ Care provides 95% protection against particles of at least 0.3 micrometers in diameter. This is about the same level of protection as provided by KN95 respirators (which are designed to meet the roughly equivalent Chinese standardGB2626-2019 ).
Exhalation valves are more common in FFP2 masksas there is greater breathing resistance. Exhalation valves help to reduce the build-up of heat inside the safety mask, improving the comfort for the wearer.

FFP2 MaskProtection
FFP2 masks protect against brake dust, cotton dust, granite dust, hay, lead dust and fume and softwood dust. They are made for working environments in which deleterious and mutagenic particles can be found in the breathing air. They are most commonly used in the metal and mining industry. Without conformant safety face masks, workers exposed to the above hazards can develop lung cancer and Tuberculosis.
FFP2 respirators are capable to protect toxic materials suspended in the air, such as lead dust, smoke, and aerosol particles, including for protection against COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend using FFP2 respirators during the global Coronavirus pandemic.
