Molybdenum is hard, soft and tougher than tungsten. Molybdenum has high modulus of elasticity, tungsten, tantalum and only high melting point. Molybdenum plate is used in many special steels. Other common uses are molybdenum electrodes, vacuum furnace applications, nuclear energy, missiles and aircraft components. Corrosion of seawater and sea sand and wear of silicon-molybdenum plate increase resistivity, thus increasing silicification temperature and flow rate of Si2Cl6.
