They are precision-engineered components designed to be used in conjunction with precision-machined flanges. All our Ring Joints are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API 6A. Ring Joint Gasket Type R ( Oval/ Octagonal ) R Style is available in both oval and octagonal configurations, the octagonal type is recommended in higher sealing efficiency, both types are interchangeable on modern octagonal type grooved flanges. However,only the oval cross section can be used in the old type round bottom groove. Drawing:
