Titanium carbide hard rods are in stock and dispatched directly
Titanium carbide (TiC)-based cemented carbide round rods offer tunable mechanical properties through precise control of TiC content (typically 70–90 wt.%) and binder phase proportion. Elevated TiC content enhances hardness and abrasive wear resistance, rendering the material particularly suitable for heavy-duty rough machining operations. Conversely, increasing the binder volume fraction (e.g., nickel or cobalt) improves fracture toughness and impact resistance, thereby optimizing performance in high-precision finishing applications. With a density of approximately 6.5 g/cm³—about 20% lower than that of conventional tungsten carbide (WC)-based rods of equivalent dimensions—TiC-based rods enable the fabrication of lightweight, high-stiffness cutting tools. In the 3C electronics sector, they are widely employed for machining critical precision components—including smart frames and laptop housings—delivering exceptional surface integrity (scratch-free finishes) and dimensional accuracy (tolerances within ±5 µm). Furthermore, advances in additive manufacturing have enabled the production of TiC-based spherical powders for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF); sintered parts exhibit >99.5% relative density and mechanical performance comparable to conventionally sintered counterparts. In photovoltaic manufacturing, TiC-based cutting tools are utilized for slicing silicon wafers, achieving thickness uniformity within ±1 µm and contributing to enhanced solar cell conversion efficiency. Owing to this broad functional adaptability across demanding industrial domains, TiC-based cemented carbides have become a strategic enabling material in advanced manufacturing.
