Passive Attenuator

There are 2.92mm, N, and SMA connectors of these series of passive Attenuators. The RF dB attenuation of attenuators ranges from 0 dB to 99 dB. What is the main function of fixed attenuator
(1) Adjust the size of the signal in the circuit;
(2) In the comparison measurement circuit, the attenuation value of the network under test can be read directly;
(3) If some circuits require a relatively stable load impedance, an attenuator can be inserted between the circuit and the actual load impedance to buffer the change of impedance.
If I exceed the maximum input level, will I burn out the fixed attenuator?
All of HBTE fixed attenuators are tested and specified at 50Ω impedance, can I use them at 75Ω?
