Mealybugs
Mealybugs are sap-sucking scale insects that can do a lot of damage to your houseplants or outdoor plants. Mealybugs on plants look like small white bugs or they may appear as white fuzzy stuff on plant leaves and stems.
Symptoms:
Mealybugs damage plants by inserting their threadlike mouthparts into any part of the plant and sucking out sap. Mealybugs excrete honeydew, a sweet, sticky liquid. Sooty molds often grow in the honeydew causing infested plants to turn black.
