UHMWPE Fiberis odorless tasteless and nontoxic. It is highlyresistant to corrosive chemicals except oxidizingacids has extremely low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction. Itis self-lubricating. It ishighly resistant to abrasionand can reach15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steelunder certain conditions. Its coefficient 0friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and acetal, and is comparable to that of polytetrafluoroethylene(PETE, Teflon), but UHMWPEhas betterabrasion resistance than PTEE.
