Description of Blow Molding Technologies
The polypropylene blow moldingtechnologies began during World War II with the production of low-density polyethylene vials. In the late 1950s, with the birth of high density polyethylene and the development of blow molding machines, blow molding technology became widely used. The volume of hollow containers can reach several thousand liters, and some production has been computer-controlled. Suitable for blow molding plastics are polyethylene, PVC, polypropylene, polyester, etc., the resulting hollow containers are widely used as industrial packaging containers. According to the production method of blanks, blow molding can be divided into extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding, the new development of multi-layer blow molding and stretch blow molding.
Usage of Extrusion Blow Molding
Extrusion blow molding is a method of manufacturing hollow thermoplastic parts. Widely known blow molded objects are bottles, drums, cans, boxes and all containers for packaging food, beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and household products. Large blow molded containers are commonly used for packaging chemicals, lubricants and bulk materials. Other blow molded products are balls, bellows and toys. For the automotive manufacturing industry, fuel tanks, car shock absorbers, seat backs, center brackets, and armrest and headrest covers are blow molded. For machinery and furniture manufacturing, blow molded parts are housings, door frames, frames, pots or boxes with an open surface.
