I. OverviewsFast-soluble modified sodium disilicate, with molecular formula of Na2Si2O5 and commercial designation of MDS, is manufactured through special process of adding active auxiliaries into sodium silicate. The pH value is within 10.5 12.5, apparent density within 0.20.7g/cm3 and solubility (20) over 50g/100g in water. Besides, its characterized by fast dissolving speed, lower requirement for temperature and better solubility than crystalline layered sodium disilicate, 4A zeolite and other sodium silicate powder products. As a phosphorous-free detergent auxiliary, the fast-soluble modified sodium disilicate (MDS) satisfies all technical and ecological requirements for substitute of STPP.Main performances and characteristics of the fasts-soluble modified sodium disilicate (MDS):(1) Favorable water softening performance. MDS has good capacity of binding and exchanging with calcium ion and magnesium ion and the exchanging process is fast and thorough. Thus its applicable to lower washing temperature. In practical washing process, MDS could effectively suppress interference of hard water ions to surfactants.
