Pharmacological Action:
Colistin is a polypeptide and alkaline cationic surfactant that works by interacting with phospholipids inside bacterial cell membranes, penetrating the membrane and disrupting its structure, leading to changes in membrane permeability and bacterial death, thus producing bactericidal effects. This product has strong antibacterial effects against Gram-negative bacteria such as aerobic bacteria, Escherichia coli, hemophilus, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella, and Shigella.
Indications:This polypeptide antibiotic is mainly used to treat intestinal infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria.
