What is a (Perimeter Intrusion Detection System)?
PIDS, or Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, is an effective solution for protecting and securing your premises by installing security sensors in the perimeter area to protect and safeguard your premises before intruders enter the property. PIDS system includes security personnel and an alarm system (security sensors), as well as surveillance cameras if visual confirmation is required.
Benefits of PIDS System
The perimeter is the first point of entry into the premises. By detecting intruders at the perimeter, an early response can be made before the intruder reaches the building.
In many locations, perimeter security measures consist only of security personnel or security guards and surveillance cameras (CCTV). It is difficult for security personnel, especially those responsible for large premises, to see everything without overlooking emergencies and always reacting immediately. There is also the possibility of human error.
And as security guards work shifts, surveillance is also prone to laxity. Security sensors reduce human error, such as negligence, and can work around the clock to ensure the same quality of security.
By dividing the perimeter into multiple zones and installing security sensors in each zone, it is possible to identify where intrusions are occurring.
In addition, by integrating the security sensors with a surveillance camera system, when the sensors detect an intrusion, they will trigger the linked camera for actions such as real-time pop-up or camera control on the screen in the surveillance room. Security operators there can then act quickly by dispatching security personnel for on-site inspection, calling the police/owner or issuing a voice warning remotely. It realizes an efficient operation that responds reliably in emergency situations.
Increasing security costs year after year is a problem for which a solution must be found. Hybrid security with a PIDS solution can reduce fixed costs over time by replacing some security personnel with alarm systems (security sensors).
