Serge mouille wall lamp replicadesigned by Serge Mouille, Throughout the 1950s Serge Mouille designed large, angular, insect-like ceiling-mounted and standing lamps with several arms along with smaller wall-sconces - all engender a kinetic, sculptural aesthetic that evokes a movement. Mouille claimed his lighting fixtures were "a reaction to the Italian models, which were beginning to invade the market in 1950," and which he thought to be "too complicated." His designs from this period were shown mainly at the legendary Steph Simon Gallery in Paris that also exhibited the work of Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Isamu Noguchi, and Jean Luce. Mouille's designs have been widely exhibited and are included in the permanent collections of New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
