In the drilling operation, the anionic high polymer is often used as drilling fluid additives to increase the viscosity of the drilling fluid. It is divided into dry powders and emulsions. The emulsions are prepared into water-in-oil (W/O) by inverse emulsion polymerization. They have the characteristics of fast dissolution, easy dispersion, high solid contents and convenient field construction.
