Copper iodine is a white or brown and white cubic crystal or dense powder, soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, phtassium cyanide, potassium iodide, anhydrous ammonia, insoluble in water, with concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid is decomposed. It is widely used as a catalyst for organic reactions, such as animal feed additive.
