IoT is short for the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of uniquely identifiable physical objects (things) that are internetworked to achieve control and information exchange via an information carrier based on standard communication protocols. IoT allows a wide variety of devices to create seamless communication and contextual interactions remotely across the existing network infrastructure. IoT enables all physical objects to act as uniquely addressable nodes and adds network functions to enhance and extend their main functionality. This feature introduces tremendous new capabilities and creates a number of opportunities by providing controllable and even personalized interoperability and manageability in today's IoT based street light monitoring system.
HOW DOES IOT STREET LIGHT CONTROLLER SYSTEM WORK?
In the IoT street light controller system, the street lights, including all-in-one integrated solar street light, two in one solar street light, and so on, are all automatically turned ON and OFF. The traditional HID lamps that draw an enormous amount of energy are now replaced with new LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). The street lights can work automatically by detecting the movements of objects on the street. IR sensor is used to detect the object. Normally, the smart street light system using IoT might include a DHT11 Temperature-Humidity sensor that provides exact information on the temperature and humidity of the region. DHT11 is a sensor that contains a digital output of the temperature and humidity. The LDR sensor and IR sensors are used to sense the light intensity and the objects of the particular area. It can transmit the data to the base station where energy gets stored using wireless technology.
