BOSCH Rectifier
The rectifier changes the alternate current produced by the alternator into continuous current so that the battery can be charged. In the Bosch rectifier the normal diodes are replaced by Zener diodes which reduce the voltage peaks that occur in the alternators. The Zener diodes provide a better operational protection for the electric components of the vehicle and make the usual overvoltage precautions unnecessary.
