Applications

The sharpness tester for stapler blades is mainly used to assess the sharpness of blades for medical staplers, ensuring the quality of surgical instruments and the surgical outcome. Specifically, the tester simulates the process of the blades cutting materials, measures and analyzes parameters such as the force and displacement during cutting, and then determines the sharpness value of the blades. This test result not only provides important quality - control evidence for medical device manufacturers but also offers reliable reference data for medical workers when choosing surgical instruments.

Test Procedures

1. Pre-test Preparation

Check the instrument's power supply (220V 50Hz) and component connections to ensure they are functioning correctly. Start the instrument and allow it to warm up to a stable operating state;

Calibrate the force sensor (ensuring an accuracy of ±0.01N), and prepare the test materials (such as 3-0 uncoated silk twisted suture as specified in YY0167-2005).

2. Sample and Test Medium Installation

Fix the stapler blade to be tested onto the instrument's dedicated fixture, ensuring the blade angle, position, and cutting path are aligned and there is no looseness/offset;

Install the test medium (such as standard suture) onto the cutting platform, adjusting its position to precisely align with the cutting edge of the blade.

3. Test Parameter Settings

Using the touchscreen interface, select the appropriate standard (YY/T 1797-2021), set the test speed (e.g., 0.05–600 mm/min), data acquisition frequency, and other parameters. Confirm and save the configuration.

4. Starting the Test

After confirming that the blade and medium are correctly positioned, click the "Start" button. The instrument will automatically simulate the cutting process, collecting and displaying cutting force, displacement, and other data in real time.

5. Test Process Monitoring

Observe the data changes on the interface to ensure that there are no abnormalities during the cutting process (such as blade jamming or medium displacement). If problems occur, pause and adjust immediately.

6. Test Completion and Cleanup

After the test is completed, the instrument will automatically shut down. Record/export the sharpness-related data (such as initial cutting force and displacement curve);

Loosen the fixture to remove the blade and remaining test medium, clean the fixture and cutting platform, turn off the instrument's power, and prepare the test report.
