Lug Type Butterfly Valve

Lug type valvehas simple structure, small volume, light weight, and has good fluid control characteristics. Its disc is installed in the diameter direction of pipeline, so the valvescan be quickly opened and closed by rotating its disc 90 degrees.

The wafer body is easy to be connected between two pipeline flange with flange bolts, and it can be used at end in a fluid system,when installed with the seat retainer plate on the pressure side(API 609)

Lug style butterfly valvedesigned to comply with MSS SP-67, BS5155 and API 609. Compatible with GB, ANSI, DIN, BS, JIS flanges. Available in size 1½″ to 48″. Available with handles (1½″ to 12″), manual gear operators (1½″ to 48″), and electric or pneumatic actuators (1½″ to 48″). With many body/trim combinations, Lug butterfly valvecan meet your application.

Lug Type VS Wafer Type

The valve (Lug Type and Wafer Type) is made of cast iron, ductile iron, cast steel as well as stainless steel

The valve (Lug Type and Wafer Type) has low pressure, DIN PN10/16, ASTM CL125/CL150, JIS 5K/10K

Both Lug and wafer are used in a number of applications for industrial sectors that include food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil, gas, water as well as wastewater management.

The wafer valve is designed to be clamped between two flanges. And the Lug valvecan be installed on the piping by threaded bolts or flanges.

Both Lug and water valvescan adjust (1/4-22.5°, 1/2-45°) and close the flow. And this two kinds can be installed with electrical actuator for more convenience.

This wafer type can be replaced by lug type in using, but the opposite is not true.

How Do You Install a Lug Type Butterfly Valve?

Putting the butterfly valve in the middle of the two flanges which fully welded to both ends of the pipe and locking the butterfly valve through the pipe flange with double head bolts, it should always be installed concentrically between flanges, position disk in the closed position during installation to prevent damage of disc sealing edge, Try the disc by moving it from the closed position to open and back to ensure it moves flexibly.
