轧辊是轧制机的主要部件，经常会加入一些金属元素(如铬、镍等)。
在加工过程中，为了保证使用寿命和获得辊的耐久性。
辊的材料包括:铸钢辊、铸铁辊、硬质合金辊、陶瓷辊等。

加工辊的刀具材料包括硬质合金刀片、陶瓷刀片和CBN刀片。
CBN刀片是加工黑色金属材料最坚硬的刀具材料，是重型切削辊的首选刀具。
